More recently I have become interested in English folk music, especially having become a huge fan of Bellowhead and Spiers and Boden.
I am learning to play the English melodeon, and first bought a cheap second hand Scarlatti model in D/G on eBay. I fettled this slightly by removing the thirds from the chords by covering the reeds with tape, and modified the air button position to make it a bit easier to play. I also regularly had to compensate for broken springs with elastic bands!
I outgrew this quite quickly though and managed to buy a nearly-new Sandpiper D/G, also on eBay, which makes a much nicer sound and is also a lot easier to play.
